Day 26.

She Would Know.

The last thing in the world
he wanted was to hurt her,
but he knew it had to happen.
He had to tell her.
Everything.
She would cry.
She would yell.
She would leave.
But she would know.
Finally.
After all the years
of keeping the silence
and holding it in,
he would finally be free.
And she would know.
Maybe she would still love him.
Maybe not.
Likely not.
But she would know.
And she could decide for herself.
He would no longer
keep her trapped here
by his lies and omissions.
She would know.
